The Mercedes-Benz 300SL (W198) was a sportscar built by Mercedes-Benz. The car was produced from 1954 to 1957 as a coupé and from 1957 to 1963 as a roadster. The letters SL are the shortform for Superleicht (german for super light). It was also the fastes car at it's time.
The engine was a 6-cylinder inline engine with 215hp and had a topspeed of 260km/h (161mph).
